MC7815, 7815, MC7815-CT 1 Amp 15V (+) Voltage Regulator, GULL WING leads
These voltage regulators are monolithic integrated circuits designed
as fixed-voltage regulators for a wide variety of applications
including local, on-card regulation. These regulators employ internal
current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe-area compensation. With
adequate heatsinking they can deliver output currents in excess of 1.0 A.
Although designed primarily as a fixed voltage regulator, these devices
can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltages and currents.

indicate. The data of Figure 5 is based on TJ(pk) = 150 C; TC is variable depending on conditions.
Second breakdown pulse limits are valid for duty cycles to 10% provided TJ(pk) 150 C. TJ(pk) may
be calculated from the data in Figure 6. At high case temperatures, thermal limitations will reduce
the power that can be handled to values less than the limitations imposed by second breakdown.
