Investigator Sound Level Meter
Bruel Kjaer 2260 Investigator Sound Level Meter, serial number 1933838. The meter turns on properly and is easy to use. It measures sound in dBs (many choices), and also in octave bands and also one third octave bands. The meter shows the proper calibration when connected to a Bruel Kjaer calibrator unit (not included) which puts out 124 dBs. What is included is shown in the pictures , including a black case, foam windscreen, 6 C batteries which were used to power up the unit but are not brand new, instruction manual, microphone number Bruel Kjaer 4189 2009082, but not the calibrator unit. One of the photos shows the sound level in a completely quiet room which was 21 dBs minimum so it is very sensitive. Just a whisper makes the decibel reading jump up in that room. It powers on with the screens that are in the photographs so you can see the software numbers, and shows the other screens in the photos when you go into the menu. There are many menu options. There is a button with a light symbol that does not increase the screen brightness. There is a sticker on the meter which says - Bruel Kjaer 4189 S/N 2009082 Sensitivity 250 Hz is 27.00 dB re. 1V/Pa 44.67 mV/Pa. Calibration date September 06, 2006 Calibration due September 06, 2006 By: FC15438-1 West Caldwell Calibration Labs, Inc.. The overall dimensions of the case are 18" wide by 5" deep and 7" tall.
