Dynamic optical windows are an outgrowth of through-beam fork sensors. Instead of a single light beam as with the fork sensors, the dynamic optical window uses a number of parallel light beams. This arrangement makes it possible to sense object not only at a point, but rather over an area (window).
A special arrangement of the optics ensures that the outstanding resolution remains the same at any location in the window.
BOWA sensors work dynamically, i.e. parts are detected in the active area only when they are moving.
The BOWA 0408 has an active range of 40 80 mm and can detect parts down to a size of 0.8 mm diameter.
The BOWA 0408 has an active range of 80 80 mm and can detect parts down to a size of 1 mm diameter.
Only moving objects are detected, feed rails etc. do not affect the measurement
