Gold Laced Wyandotte's are a large sized dual purpose breed having been bred for utility as well as beauty. Wyandotte's are heavily feathered making them well suited to Cold Climates, but tolerate our Texas heat well.
The standard weight for males is 8.5 pounds-an excellent meat bird. The standard weight for hens is 6.5 pounds and are good producers of large brown tinted eggs.
Their plumage is a striking combination of Rich Golden Bay Laced with lustrious Greenish Black. The males and females have similar color patterns, with the male's large, close laying deep red comb giving the appearance of him wearing a hat. These birds are beautiful to observe and a pleasure to be around.
These large birds are very clam natured and have a gentle disposition.
