Golden Lakenvelders are a beautiful variety that attracts a lot of attention because of their unique color pattern.
They have black heads, necks and tails with the remainder of the plumage being buff. A beautiful German breed created for us by Oskar Vorwerk......... Vorwerks, More commonly known to North America as the Golden Lakenvelder, are EXCELLENT producers of medium white or tinted eggs.
They are a rare breed and non-setters. Golden Lakenvelders are small at maturity. Hens reach only 3 to 4 pounds.
They are very active and are good foragers if allowed to range. The feed conversion ratio is quite good.
Very nice for exhibition. Our quality stock will not disappoint you. They are fine birds that will give you years of enjoyment.
Ours have also been very dependable layers... They are the first to begin laying in the Spring..and have done very well through the Winter......
