HEISE precision pressure controllers, models dpc 179, provide both
precision pressure measurement and control. The systems
incorporate a helical quartz bourdon tube, with an attached
mirror, as the sensing element. Change of pressure
results in a change in the mirror angle. This change in angle is tracked
by an optical transducer which is mounted on a turntable type gear. There
is absolutely no mechanical connection between the transducer and the
pressure sensing element. Due to this, the effects of friction
and nonlinearities are minimized.
In the DPC 179 this precision pressure measurement system is coupled
with a precision servo valve. The system is capable of
controlling pressures from as low as 0.02 psia and up to 1000 psi.
The unit can easily be switched between the measurement
and control modes of operation.
