Spray mist unit for cutting and grinding applications
Use the Spray Mist Unit to keep the cutter cool and lubricated to extend cutter life. Keeps the work piece cool with a combination of coolant mist and an air stream or blow compressed air only. The manifold/air metering block is made from 6061 T6 aluminum. The tensile strength of this aluminum is similar to that of mild steel. Lock Line(r) snap together hose section stays where you put it. Simple design protects siphon hose from chips. Manifold has 1/4 NPT for your compressed air supply. The air flow pulls the coolant through the siphon tube, no coolant pump is required. Both the air flow and the coolant flow can be adjusted separately.
Maximum air flow and coolant flow: 3.5scfm air, and 1.25 gal/hr. coolant.
Minimum air flow and coolant flow: 0.64scfm air, and 0.025gal/hr. coolant
This was the minimum rate possible to keep a consistent flow of coolant
The manifold block has 1/4 inch mounting holes for screws. I wanted a spray mist unit that could be pointed with one hand and the magnet bases where not strong enough to hold while aiming, especially after they where covered with steel chips. I also wanted a nozzle that would stay where it was aimed and the Lock Line works well in that respect. The coolant reservoir mounts with hook and loop tape. I made it simple and inexpensive enough that I could afford to put one unit on each of my machines thereby eliminating the need for a magnetic base.
As for the coolant, any coolant that is compatible with a spray mist unit will work. The choice of coolant will have more to do with the machining application than the spray mist unit. This unit is capable of spraying very precisely a small amount or a flood.
Use this on mills, drills, lathes, saws, grinders, sanders, presses, stampings. Instructions for use printed on the coolant reservoir.
Here's what past winners have said-
This is Rays first email to me-
"Tim, Just wanted to let you know I received my mist coolant unit, and I could not be more pleased. I bought another kind, for twice as much as yours, and found it all but unusable. Yours works absolutely perfectly. I am very, very, happy! Thank you! Now I need another one for my lathe, so get more up there! :-)
Paul emailed me looking for a recommendation for milling a 1/4" slot one inch deep in aluminum. I thought my Spray Mist Unit would work well so Paul bought one and here are his comments-
Your mist system is working great, I don't have to baby-sit the mill anymore with a can of spray lube, I'm running straight A9 aluminum cutting fluid through it with no problems, and it uses way less then I was spraying on. Mounting was as simple as 1 screw in an existing threaded hole.
You should add the search words MaxNc, Sherline and Taig to your listing for more sales, these machines can't run coolant without a lot of mods.
