Up for your consideration is this LOT of 2 - 12oz. bottles of DRYLOK ETCH Masonry Cleaner. This prepares concrete surfaces for painting. Granular material requires only mixing with water, it also removes efflorescence from masonry. Cleans mortar from brick and ceramic tile and etches galvanized surfaces for painting. It is made from sulphamic acid and contains no muriatic acid. It is manufactured by UNITED GILSONITE. Here is some more information I found online about this product:

This product is meant to remove efflorescence on concrete mortar and other cement like surfaces or will open the surface (for staining or other treatments like water proofing)(and can be used on galvanized metal to prep for painting) They say "this is a safer alternative to using Muriatic acid". not sure why though. Basically this is a surface cleaner or preparation agent to better facilitate or accommodate a secondary treatment.
