New Focus 6200 External-Cavity Tunable-Diode-Laser Controller
For sale- a New Focus 6200 External-Cavity Tunable-Diode-Laser Controller. The unit is in very good physical condition, and it powers up as you can see. But the display panels in the middle and on the right don t show anything. I initially thought that perhaps it was set up for computer control, and until it was given instructions from the host computer it wouldn t do anything (it has both RS232 and IEEE 488 ports on the back).
But then I downloaded the manual from the New Focus website for the 6200 series, which includes the compatible diode lasers and this controller. After spending a few minutes looking through that it looks like that the first thing the controller does is check out the EPROM chip in the attached diode laser and puts that info up in the display. As no lasers are attached I am guessing it can t get to the next step.
Untested other than as described, and sold without warranty. The surplus info indicated that it should be functional, but I have no way to verify that unless you want to send me a compatible laser for testing.
