Vintage sony icf-8900L 6 band sw/mw/lw/fm radio nice
Here is a nice vintage yet powerful 6 Band Sony Radio...The speaker sounds really good, nice sound out put.
The antenna is broken off and long gone, but you can easily put a better longer stronger antenna on the radio in place if you know how, it is not to hard I have replaced antennas before.
I checked it out and I found some different stations, some were in Un English, and emergancy channels, and regular channels, I could just Imagine how many channels I could find If I put the antenna on there.
I didn't play with it for long, just long enough to be sure it worked and I could find some channels and I did.
This is a real cool radio, Has white specs all over it, Just The way sony Made it to spice its looks up. It is in really good condition being so Old, and Like I said The speaker was Very impressive, It was Nice and Loud and had good base and just a good balance EQ which is what really matters if you looking for a serious radio like this, then you really must have a great sounding speaker.
There may be some static when you turn the tuning & or Volume knob but that should clear up and is most likely alittle dust on the speaker from just being so old and sitting in storage..
But once you find your tuned spot it sounds clear and crisp, and I am just adding this just incase, This is a great radio over all.
It also as a REC/PHONO port on the back....and it has two screws where you can hook a external antenna up to it, darn, I just noticed that, I wish I would have tryed that out, well, I must let it go, I doubt I will find another one this cool but It will make someone very happy.
It also has a headphone slot on the side for private listening.
It also has a AC/DC switch on the back, It runs off the cord that is built in but there is also a battery door on the back so you can take it out camping or just if you want to travel with it.

Sony put White Specks ? I think you got a nice radio with white paint splatter on it. sony never put white specks on the 8900l
OH GOOD I WAS WONDERING ABOUT THAT, THE SPECS LOOKED SO UNIFORMED SO I THOUGHT IT WAS PART OF THE LOOK.
