This brass bar measures 1.250" diameter by 12" +/- 1/16". It is alloy number 2745 which is a no lead brass suitable for use when it comes into contact with potable water. The alloy consists of 60-65% copper, 30-34% Zinc, <.35% Iron, <.25% Lead , and <.5% other. It has a small amount of lead which means that parts made from it meet the AB 1953 definition of lead free. It offers good machinability but requires a slower working speed than 360. It has excellent forgeability, brazing and plating qualities. The scrap is recyclable. Stays bright longer than
