The Polish chicken is actually not "Polish" at all.
This is a European breed of chicken famous for it's crest of feathers......known by admirers as "tophats" these stunning chickens are exceptionally gentle and sociable.
Originating from the Netherlands, their heads are adorned with large crests due to a cone (protuberance) on the top of their skull. These beautiful crests cover nearly their entire heads.
Golden Polish are among the most ornamental of the crested fowl.
They are strikingly beautiful in their golden mahogany bay and lustrous black plumage.
Golden Polish are good producers of medium white eggs and are non setters..Males average 6 lbs with females averaging 4.5 lbs.
They are a must for the poultry fancier or exhibitionist who appreciates the unique attributes of this colorful and ornate breed....
