Optical Scientific LOA-004 Long Baseline Optical Anemometer
For sale- an SCTI, now Optical Scientific, LOA-004 Long Baseline Optical Anemometer and Atmospheric Turbulence Sensor. This is a three piece system, consisting of an optical transmitter, a receiver, and an Electronics Enclosure. I initially bought the Transmitter and the electronics almost six months ago, but no Receiver. So I decided to sit on them and see if the missing box turned up. It did.
So now I have the transmitter, the receiver, and the electronics enclosure. Plus a manual. What I do not have is the cables required to hook it up, those most likely are lost forever. So you will either need to fabricate your own cables or purchase them from Optical Scientific. OSI Wind and Turbulence Sensors use optical scintillation as the detection method. Scintillation is a general term that describes changes in the apparent position or brightness of an object when viewed through the atmosphere. Starlight twinkling is a common example of scintillation.
