What does that cosmetic number mean?
I'm glad you asked! It shows the overall cosmetic condition of the item on a 1 - 5 scale. Check out the scale to see where this item rates:
1 New - 2 Excellent - 3 Good - 4 Fair - 5 Broken
It means we plug it in and check for a light that comes on, or if it makes a noise (like the gentle whisper of whirring fans). Nothing else! We don't know if the light is supposed to be red or green or orange or purple. If a light turns on when the items is fed power, the item is rated as "POWERS ON" !!! If we plug it in and gears start turning...it is considered to power on.
Why can't you test this thing all the way?
I wish we could! Or even knew how! The simple fact is that we get tons of unique items. We just don't have the time or brainpower to figure them all out. That's why you're getting such an awesome price!
* TYPEWRITER POWERS ON, PERFORMS SELF TEST, ERROR MESSAGE "CHECK PRINTER"
* PAPER FEED KNOBS DO NOT MOVE FREELY.
* SOUND OF LOOSE DEBRIS INSIDE.
