The DV-5 can be used in deluge, preaction, and special-type (i.e., foam-water) fire protection systems, and is designed for both vertical and horizontal applications. The DV-5 features an internal and external Rilsan corrosion-resistance coating, making it an ideal valve for use with seawater and brackish water supplies, and more durable in corrosive atmospheres, such as industrial processing plants, and outdoor applications. Rounding out the DV-5's new design features is a lightweight ductile iron body that, when coupled with a lack of weighty internal metallic parts, makes the DV-5 the lightest deluge valve on the market.
