Originating from the village of Adamsville in the State they were named for, Rhode Island Reds were admitted to the American Standard of Perfection in 1904.
Our special line of single combed Rhode Island Reds are striking birds with contrasting deep dark mahogany bodies against bright red combs and wattles.
The greenish sheen of their black tail complimented by their rich yellow legs and feet enhances the regal beauty of this stately breed.
Our line is not your common utility strain of Rhode Island Reds found in most commercial hatcheries.
The exceptional quality of this line is evident.
Rhode Island Reds are well known for their excellent laying abilities and quick growth.
They are a dual purpose chicken providing plentiful meat and eggs.
Mature Rhode Island Red males average 8 1/2 pounds while females average 6 1/2 pounds and lay approximately 275 large brown eggs per year.....
They are a very hardy breed that is quiet, well suited for foraging and stands confinement equally as well.
