After careful consideration I have decided to sell our registered trademark/business The Classic Cowboy , U.S. registration number 2270403. The trademark was designed to develop a clothing and gift line to sell at large livestock shows, rodeos and trade shows as well as on the internet as a home-based business.
I have had great success with a similar business that I sold after 20 years of doing these shows with a different product.
This particular line is primarily designed to be used for a logo on clothing: Caps, Jackets, Shirts, etc. and other gifts The company is ideal for someone who enjoys traveling this circuit and you can do as many or as few shows as you desire. Another valuable asset to the company would be a website. I do have a domain name that will go along with the trademark but I have not had a chance to set the website up yet.
Another option for this business would be wholesaling to other stores. You will have a licensing company contacting you to be a licensee of the product. (i.e. they use your logo and pay you royalties).
The trademark The Classic Cowboy was registered in August of 1999. As a U.S. trademark it renews every five years, the next renewal date in 2009. Also, the trademark can be transferred. To prepare and file the assignment is $315, which includes a $40 filing fee to the trademark office.
I have successfully tested this product at some of the largest events in the country, including: The National Finals Rodeo Las Vegas, NV, The National Western Stock Show Denver, CO, Cheyenne Frontier Days, Cheyenne, WY, The American Royal, Kansas City, MO and The Cow Palace, San Francisco, CA.
