As an improved clone version of STK500, this item integrates FT232RL-an USB UART IC made by FTDI (Future Technology Devices International Ltd.) rather than the old-fashioned PL2303HX. It further stablize the communication of STK500 with PC or laptop via USB. Besides, this item supports a wide range of ATMEL AVR microcontroller and is capable of working with ATMEL AVR Studio 4.13 or higher version to support more devives.
