New old stock (NOS) Magnetic Metals 8.4 mh inductor coils (nominal 8mh inductors), 81 ohm. When iron is brought near the coil front, inductance increases by about 10%. This means that these coils are great as pickup coils, for example, to pickup brainwaves, and magnetic fields. And because the coils have a 1/8" diameter, almost 1/2" long hole in the center, see image, you can insert a permanent magnet, ferrite stud or iron stud (e.g. piece of 1/8" dia nail) to much increase the coil inductance for even greater sensitivity, to tune inductance, or to use these coils as solenoids or adapt as relay coils. They are 1/2" long and diameter of coil is 1/2".
