This test set has been designed to test 400 Hz A.C. single phase and three phase electrical systems. It may be used to check for proper operation or malfunctioning of electrical components or systems.
There are six constituent test instruments and circuits which comprise the test set. They are:
The equipment is contained in a portable carrying case which is made of Xenoy, a high strength, electrically non-conductive plastic. With the removable, hinged cover in place, the case is moisture-proof; when the cover is opened or removed, the panel becomes accessible. All controls, electrical connections and indicators (except for those directly on the clamp-on ammeter) are located on the panel, which is also made of plastic. There are four sets of test leads supplied with the equipment, one set to be used with the clamp-on ammeter and three sets to be used with the rest of the test-set.
The test set includes a frequency meter which can be powered directly by the frequency line-voltage, or by an external 85-250V A.C. power source via a standard power cord socket.
