Melles griot rotating optical holder polarizing filter
This is an optical holder with a polarizing filter inside. One polarizing element can be rotated and lock in place.
There are gradations to mark the degree of rotation.
The filter is approximately 24mm in diameter. The two outer surfaces had some dust that blew off easily. There remains what look like 'water spots' that commonly collect on telescope optics-think dew condensation. (I am more familiar with telescopes and eyepieces). There are some other spots on then optics. I did not touch the optics or attempt to clean them.
As you can see in the second picture, this has seem a lot of use with some wear. The yellow-brownish stuff in the third picture turned out to be what I think is residue stickum from the label. I rubbed most of it off.
The mounting post telescopes, about 5 inches long. It has male threads at the end.
