For mobile, portable, and fixed installations, this proprietary lead screw drive exerts equal force in both extend and retract modes. The tower raises and retracts at the same speed. There is no waiting for air or fluid pressure buildup or release.
The tower's ten inch outside diameter section mounts easily in a vehicle. The tower is designed so the base plate, gear box, and motor can be removed during installation. There are no protrusions on the ten inch section, so sealing the opening is straightforward.
The tower is raised and lowered using a powered lead screw and cable system. The lead screw pushes up the second section and the remaining sections raise simultaneously via cables. Since the sections are raised simultaneously, the tower can be used at any height. The tower is stronger when used at a lower height, as all sections have a longer overlap. Tower retraction is also powered. The lead screw pulls down the second section and the specially designed pulldown cable system retracts the remaining sections at the same rate. This feature allows the tower to be retracted during strong wind conditions.
