Long-edged glass knives are finding increasing application in histology for producing large area semi-thin sections of wax or resin-embedded tissue.
The Ralph Glass Knifemaker is capable of producing 38 mm wide knives using a single lever action to both score and break the glass.
By replacing the steel knife of a microtome with long glass knives, sections down to 1.5 m can be cut.
