Applications: The Zeiss Axiovert 100 is a high-end inverted research-grade microscope for brightfield and fluorescence applications. The microscope is especially well suited for live cell imaging and low-light fluorescence microscopy. The LD-Achroplan objectives feature long working distance and phase-contrast optics for cell observations in plastic petridishes. The series of Fluar objectives have extremely high light throughput from the UV to the red and are therefore intended for use for live cell fluorescence imaging. The Fluar objectives are not corrected for a flat image, i.e. objects at the perimeter of the field are not in focus. The Fluar objectives also are not corrected for chromatic aberration, i.e. multiple colors might not coregister correctly. A heated chamber will also be available for this microscope for live-cell imaging and time-lapse studies.
