FarmViller.com is a wiki dedicated to the Facebook application/game FarmVille by Zynga. FarmVille is the most popular Facebook application with over 82 million active users. FarmViller.com was created September 11, 2010 to fill the need for a central location to store the wealth of FarmVille knowledge being created and discussed by the community. Before FarmViller.com, a players best hope for finding out details about the game was to skim forum threads and download obscure fan created spreadsheets. FarmViller.com gave the community a place to collaboratively store their game knowledge and quickly became the unofficial FarmVille missing manual.
I am not completely committed to selling. A part of me knows selling at this point is a mistake since the site continues to grow and I have many ideas for improving the site. However, I am getting married soon and will be faced with many expenses in the near future. The income from this sale will help greatly at this point in my life. That is why I have chosen to officially entertain offers for the sale of FarmViller.com. I hope the great community around FarmViller.com understands it was difficult coming to this decision and continues to support me and the site.

FarmViller.com uses a wiki content management software package called MediaWiki. This is the same software running Wikipedia. MediaWiki runs off PHP and uses a MySQL database. I have optimized the site to run very lean with active caching functionality. This allows me to run the site on very cheap ($10/month) shared web hosting at Dreamhost.com. The entire site uses 472MB of disk space. Approximately half of that consists of uploaded images. During the month of April, the site used 159GB of bandwidth. The MySQL database uses 222MB of disk space. The site overall requires very little maintenance and upkeep. The stability of the optimized MediaWiki installation and the day-to-day upkeep by our wonderful users leaves very little for me to do other than update the Facebook Fanpage.
Since I have never sold a website before, I cannot even begin to come up with a price for FarmViller.com. I will simply entertain offers and likely accept the best one.
