1 1/2 hp john deere hit and miss e stationary engine 3

* Excellent Compression, Starting
The engine on this 1 was overhauled this month with new rings and springs, etc. and we have another picture of it apart. Other new parts include a New Governor, Oil Pan and Gas Tank too. The only mentions on it is in the video you see it needs a lot of running yet to work in the new rings smoother as you can see it jumping around there. So since it's only been ran for 10 minutes with the new rings then to get those rings to settle into the cylinder park it outside your shop and run it till it runs out of gas and fill it up then and repeat till it has about 20 hours on it and then you'll be ready to go for another 50 years.
You'll see a little oil on the ground after running it and again we think like on its new engine this engine and for the oil seal just needs to be run for 20 hours. Until now it sat for some many year idle with little oil in it so the gaskets and that are now just seeing oil and use for the first time in a long while. We have never power washed it either so I m sure it was last cleaned many years ago otherwise it wouldn t look as oily. But we can see it mainly is leaking a little around the base is where we can see that. So if long term running of it and if those base seals don t re-seal all the way then it just needs some oil pan gaskets as that s where most of it is coming from but its leaking a little as we said, not a lot. Note the bearings seem real good in the engine around the flywheel so that is good.
We took a picture of the right front block area as you see that chip piece busted of the corner which I ve seen on other engines happen before. And lastly on the flywheel handle it looks like someone incorrectly tried to take the handle off and broke it (these are threaded, not pinned) and so someone has welded on that handle, but the flywheel itself is not broke and that is in real good shape.
Starts and runs good as you'll see here on this video taken this week:

Note: we are also in the next 2 weeks getting ready to list several other hit n miss engines here at Oxford, MS once we get them running but I have pictures of these including:
*very rare 1946 JD 6 HP at $6,500 on a real good, non-JD cart.
*very nice original LUC on skid. $500
