One of our favourite machines beautifully made and able to plane the edges of the boards you have just processed in your thicknesser, dead square and straight. With ground cast iron tables plus a 600mm long extruded aluminium fence your boards will be held square to the blades for a true edge. The tables are mounted onto a cast iron sub base along with the motor and cutter block so that the accuracy of the planer is assured. The in-feed table is adjustable for depth of cut to a maximum of 2mm via a convenient depth control knob. The fence itself has adjustable presets for 45 & 90 degrees which allows rapid setting for bevel or square planing. The 150mm wide cutter head houses 2 High Speed Steel re sharpenable blades which are easy to reset with the included setting jig. Guarding is provided by a rigid aluminium extrusion, which can be adjusted to cover the unused section of the cutter head, mounted on a steel adjustable pivoting arm. Chip extraction is very important on a machine of this type, not only remove the waste but to improve the surface finish. A 63mm outlet is provided and is sited directly alongside the cutter block for maximum efficiency. The rigid ABS base has rubber feet to prevent slippage on the workbench, is very impact resistant and is self coloured so will look good for years to come. As I have said, one of our favourite machines, offering a very impressive performance especially considering its size and cost.
