Groen 60 gallon kettle steam cooking tilting electric
I have primarily wholesaled Bakery and Restaurant equipment to local used equipment dealers for about 16 years plus. I am retired from the Government with 25 years of which was equipment repairs and purchasing of GSA equipment. Enough about me! Please allow me to let you know, what I know about this Groen Kettle..
This Groen 60 Gallon Kettle came from a cooking school located in Orlando, Florida.
Also there are a few light scratches on this kettle from where the students that cleaned the kettle with very light scouring pads, one major part of the school curriculum was they had to clean the kettle after every class for sanitation purpose and for the health department.
Groen products are built by American's in Elk Groove Village , IL and it shows. Their products have earned respect all over the world for long lasting and reliabilty. The life expentancy of a Groen kettle under normal to heavy use is about 60 years, this kettle has had very little use therefore it should last atleast till the year 2030-2040.
This kettle has 2/3 Jacket inner and outer walls, this is a safety feature that helps protect the top of the kettle from getting extremely hot other kettles that have 100% jacket are not good because they tend to burn people/users when they touch the top of the kettle. This is one of groen's greatest features.
Also, please note this kettle DOES NOT have any computer boards or electronics that can go bad, this kettle is what we call the old reliable nothing really can go wrong with this kettle.
This kettle is still in a vacuum that means this kettle does NOT have any leaks what so ever. Please take a look at the picture that shows the sight glass as you can see from the water it is full and rust free due to having the original factory rust proof water chemically treated.
The tilting mechanism works 100% good.
Please keep in mind this kettle does have some age on it but is in EXCELLENT codition.
When we got this kettle home we omed out all the elements to test for continuity and all tested 100%
Our location is not setup for 480 volt however i have it on good authority that this kettle was working perfectly when it was disconnected.
THIS KETTLE WAS NEVER USED COMMERCIALLY !
