Litz wire 175/46 for crystal set coil loop antenna 80'
This Xizi brand Litz wire was manufactured on March of 2008 and meets the GB11018 and RoHs standard. It uses double layer savageness silk for the outside insulation and polyester insulating film for each copper strand. The wire can be coiled about 26 turns per inch. It is very easy to solder with a simple 30 watt soldering iron.
The Litz wire, made from #46 strand wire, is best used for operating on frequencies ranging from 850 KHz to1400 KHz. You can use this Litz wire to make the high Q coils, traps, or loop antennas for your high quality crystal radio.
The quality of this Litz wire is almost the same as the US made Kerrigan-Lewis wire, but the price is much lower.
Here are two coils made from Kerrigan-Lewis brand Litz wire (left) and Xizi Litz brand wire (right). The coil forms are high-impact styrene water pipe adapter (bought from local Home Depot Store). I compared two coils with my HP 4342A Q meter:
D/L 2.33 1.75 ( the best D/L should be 2.46 )
