Jrc nrd-515 refurbished and with upgraded audio

Many people are aware of the greatness of the NRD-515, just read these reviews for yourself:

Now one thing that people including myself have complained about over the decades (I owned my first 515 in the 80 s) is the audio problem where the audio in AM mode is very unpleasant.
The reason and cure for that is this (taken from webpage) : The single diode AM detector causes a too high a-symmetric load on the last IF stage. With a small buffer with low Z-out the distortion is gone, also audible as cleaner SSB!!
This and the cure is described on this webpage: http://people.zeelandnet.nl/wgeeraert/index515.htm
And you can see that there is a cure also, a buffer circuit !
This 515 has that cure in it. a buffer is installed in this 515 so it is now worthy of listening to.
And that s not all !!! I have also added a wider AM filter (in the AUX postion) so that you have almost HI-FI quality from this 515. You see the stock wide filter is fairly narrow at 4.7kHz at 6db. Really too narrow for fine listening. Now this 515 is ready for the good stuff. It is very noticeable to listen to this 515 with a nice speaker in the AUX filter position compared to a stock 515 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have also done some addition refurbishing of the 2.4 kHz mechanical filter, what is recommended on this web page has also been done. http://jlkolb.cts.com/site/koku.htm
This 515 is in very nice condition, works awesome and is ready to give lots of listening pleasure.
A copy of the user manual is included.
