***All of the reference material that I can find indicates that the change from the RD4 to D4 was in name only, that they both used the D4400 engine. The main change came with the introduction of the 6U & 7U series tractors in 1947 (which are not covered by this book) with the introduction of the D315 engine. Make your own judgement and purchase accordingly***
