25 New Galvanized steel 3/8"-24 (fine thread) HEXAGONAL NUT:
Sale is for twenty five ( 25 ) NUTS which is one ( 1 ) lot. NOTE: The photo shows one lot. These NUTS were made for US government procurement; they were in boxes of 1000. The boxes were in a bin next to a spray wash area; the boxes, bolts & nuts got wet. Consequently, these NUTS are dull with zinc oxide, and some have trace rust. There is a resinous wax protective coating on these NUTS. The protective coating can be removed with a solvent, but it is best left in place. A little WD40 or other solvent born spray lubricant at time of use is best approach. All NUTS are perfectly sound - usable. These NUTS are 3/8 inch diameter, 24 threads per inch (National Fine thread). These NUTS are 5/8 inch hexagonal head; they are commercial - industrial finished thread ( technically a 2B thread ); this was the old system of classification. If you ever have to fasten two pieces of steel together and need a 3/8"-24 NUT these NUTS are a way to do it. The advantages are: -very strong ( fine threads give the highest force ), -works where space is limited / tight, -can be easily disassembled, -draws the pieces together without extra effort / tools, -can be easily tightened later to take up looseness, -etc. NOTE: There is a listing for the BOLTS that these NUTS fit ( 1 1/8 inch long ); LOOK AT OUR OTHER ITEMS.
