Topcon Positioning Systems Inc. has introduced the FC 1000, a Windows CE field controller completely designed by Topcon, incorporating key features that will make data collection and distribution easier than ever.
The shockproof and waterproof FC-1000 has one of the industry's fastest processing speeds 300 MIPS (Microprocessor Instructions Per Second) and includes removable, compact flash card data storage. This feature enables the operator to expand available memory to meet any application need, and to download or transfer data between PC's without connecting the FC-1000 so it s available for field use at all times.
Three comm ports provide maximum compatibility, and include a standard USB connection, DB-9 serial port, and a 6-pin port for direct connection to any Topcon total station. It includes two rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs, and can accept standard "Handi-Cam" battery packs as an added convenience. Other user-conscious features include a keyboard designed for easy data entry even when wearing gloves.
By adding Topcon's new TopSURV software, the FC-l000 becomes a comprehensive, fully integrated Topcon solution. The software's intuitive graphical interface displays common operations in clear sight, not hidden deep within a sub-menu.
