The Deba knife is a Japanese style carving knife able to handle all heavy cutting tasks, including the boning of poultry, fish, meat and other game. The Deba knife offers a thicker blade, ground only on one side for precise cutting. These knives can also be used as an all-purpose kitchen knife. The "Deba Hocho" literally meaning "pointed carving knife" first appeared in Japan during the Edo period (1600-1867)
