'New medium-speed steel cutting grade shows superior performance in the cutting of carbon steels, low to medium alloy steels and non-precipitation hardening stainless steel (wet or dry). Superior performer in a variety of steel applications. SM245 is a very tough medium-speed grade with Valenite's patented CVD Multi-layer (TiCN/TiN) coating. Tool life has been increased up to 300% in selected applications, and an average increase of 50% is not uncommon.'
