Reclaimed antique timber framed barn, mortise and tenon
Subject barn is in the deconstruction process and available for viewing as a unit until complete. It is in pristine condition. There is one deteriorated timber that will be replaced. One other timber is distressed but is superfluous to the structure and will therefore in all likelihood not be used in new constuction.
It is constucted with full 8"x8" yellow pine timber, dating to circa 1915, measuring an ideal 32'x 60' ,fully mortise and tenoned with additional reinforcement at critical joints. It is built in a truss fashion allowing a full basement with NO posts required. If a free span basement were not necessary, then the steel support rods above can be removed for additional flow above. See diagrams as to how this frame can be changed to just about any design you desire. If additional timber would be required for this beyond what is contained in the truss bent, we will supply these FREE. Sidewalls measure 20' 8" and height above the floor of 15' . We can construct/deliver this barn for you within 100 miles of 60554. We have converted 5 barns to homes and can explain the easy process and consult on your project. I live in a barn and love living in it every minute !
The sill and roof are not included. Elementary reconstruction diagrams are included. Frame is fully tagged for reconstruction

Barn is a 4 bay, 5 bent structure. The bays measure 14',14',16', and 16'. The end bents are 3 post and the middle three are 2 horizontal and two diagonal. Height from floor to top horizontal is 13'6" and 7'7" respectively.
