Wild heerburg leica M5A stereo microscope+precison boom

NO RESERVE!!!!!!! Wild Heerburg Leica M5A Stereo Microscope+Diagnostic Precison Boom s/n 181970
The standard objective (catalog number 390 789) was 1x. The pod has four paired relay systems giving discrete magnification steps of 6, 12, 25, and 50 times when used with 10x oculars. This microscope is not a zoom system - it is rather a blend of the Greenough system and zoom system. The relay lenses in the carrier are wide-set and parallel to each other The systems are very well corrected. The optic axes are moved much closer together at the base of the optic carrier by a pair of rhomboid prisms. At that position they then share opposite sides of a common objective - in that respect the instrument is similar to the stereo zoom microscopes.
The binocular heads are mated to the optic carriers, and should not be interchanged. This particular binocular head has one fixed eyetube and one with a dioptre adjustment. Later instruments had two fixed tubes. Eyetube diameter is 30 mm. .
Optically, this instrument is in perfect condition. All the lenses and prisms are free of blemishes, scratches, coating problems, and delamination problems. Furthermore, the instrument was checked with a correct 1x objective from another stand, and the alignment of the binocular tube and optic carrier are perfect - everything functions properly. Mechanically everything works just as it should, and inside everything is immaculately clean.
(vertical travel knob needs tightening)

The SMS20 uses linear ball bearings to support the horizontal arm, allowing it to glide over the work surface with none of the binding inherent in other boom stands. It is now possible to scan a large flat area, such as a printed circuit board, by simply guiding the microscope with your hands.
Our heavy duty tilting and swiveling microscope mount incorporates two degrees of freedom, allowing the scope to swivel 360 degrees around a vertical axis and to tilt from vertical to horizontal positions. In spite of its flexibility, this heavy-duty mount can still securely lock the microscope in any orientation, even when loaded down with a large camera system. This mount also features a friction adjustment on the tilting motion to prevent the unexpected "flip-over" of the microscope upon release of the tilting lock.
