Norton voltmeter, vintage volt meter

Vintage Norton Voltmeter made by "The Norton Electrical Instrument Company". Much of the nickle plating is still present on the cover. The needle moves easily but does not return to 0. The set point indicator moves freely. The cover is not magnetic and is not brass. The case is magnetic. The glass is in excellent condition, though it is unknown if the glass is original. Look at the picture of the back side of the cover. Notice the tabs that hold the glass are covered in oxidation and one of the four is missing half of the tab and another is missing the tip that extends over the glass. Also, the set point indicator knob on the cover has a flake of nickle plate missing. The number 36374 is printed on the face. The cover measures 6 5/8" in diameter. The meter measure 3 3/4" deep, not including the set point adjustment knob or the terminal posts on the back. The largest diameter on the case measures 7 3/16". When it was connected to a car battery the meter did not respond; no needle motion, no smoke, no sparks. Look at the pictures carefully; know what you're getting.
