Diy poultry plucker kit whizbang chicken plucker kit


For sale is an aluminum plate for a DIY poultry plucker, Steel flanged shaft, Barrel, and 2 Bearings (pillow blocks), drive and driven pulleys, 1 hp, 1800rpm motor, the book "Anyone can build a tub-style mechanical chicken plucker" and 125 plucking fingers. I've attached a picture of a plate with the fingers installed. Please note that the fingers do not come installed, you will have to do that yourself. Please note: To aid in the assembly we have chamfered the back side of the plate. This allows you to pull the fingers through the plate much easier.
1 - 20.5" Diameter .190" Thick 5052-H32 Aluminum Feather Plate PreDrilled and chamfered on the back side
1 - 15.5" Steel Shaft with 3.5" Steel Hub (welded construction) to mount to the feather plate (This is predrilled for 4 1/4-20 Bolts)
4 - 1/4-20 Stainless Steel Pan Head Bolts
3 - 1/4-20 Stainless Steel Nylon Insert Lock Nuts
1 - Approx 22.5" Diameter Barrel Cut to the height outlined in the Whizbang Book (approx 20") and Predrilled for the fingers (Chamfered also)
2 - 2 bolt Flanged 1" Bearings (pillow Block). Both have 1 Grease zerk and 2 set screws.
1 - 2.5" Drive pulley (5/8" Bore)
1 - 14.25" Driven pulley (1" Bore)
1 - General purpose AC motor, 1.0 hp, 1-phase, 115/208-230V, 1800 RPM, TEFC 56C rolled steel frame, Class F insulation, NEMA design B, electrically reversible, capacitor start, removable bolt-on base (Brand new)
1 - 3 prong plug and cord to wire the motor
* Also included now is the Book "Anyone can build a Tub-style mechanical chicken plucker" to aid in the assembly process!
Not Included (Wood Frame, assembly hardware (other than items listed above), idler pulley kit (We've found you can save some money and do without this), drive belt, Switch and switch box (again, you can do without this)
Bonus - When we cut the barrel off we have the bottom left over. We personally use these to water our chickens. We will include this at no extra charge to you. If you do not want the waterer, we will remove it from the box.
We have built several of the DIY chicken pluckers and used this pattern and it works great. Based on this plate design and the barrels I've used, you'll need 115 or so plucking fingers (always nice to have a few spares also).
